- Be intentional
This is arguably one of the most important pieces of advice. Anybody can plan “just because they can.” For the memories that will make the most impact, take time to go the extra mile to ensure all the finer details are in order. - Take turns deciding how you’ll spend time together
We all know how important it is to allow children to celebrate their independence by allowing them to make their own decisions. This same rule applies to each of your family members. There will be good days and bad days. It is our job as family members to be there through every step of the way. There will be times where we are at our lowest points and times where we reach our highest peaks. One of the best ways to bond with your family members is to establish a place of safety and comfort. A place where each of your family members can celebrate their successes and be consoled during their times of need.
- Experience new activities together
Experiencing a new adventure is a great way to heighten the senses and make lasting memories. Doing this with family is a great way to create a lasting impact. Some ways to do this are to establish goals together as a family and work toward them together, try new restaurants, see new places together or simply shake up your weekly routine with something new!
