DO I NEED TO BE AN AVID RUNNER?


Heavens, no!  You can walk, jog, run, crawl, skip, or dance the 5k.  The race isn't timed so just come ready to have fun and get covered in color. Just be warned you will be coated head to toe in color when you are finished. If you do want to know your 5k time, you best bring your own stopwatch.  Don't forget...if you just want to party with the color, you can select the After Party only option through registration.

See that "register" button at the top of the page? Click that. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

PROBLEMS REGISTERING WITH A CODE/VOUCHER?


Once in a while cyber space hates us all, and will give you a fit if you try to enter a voucher or code through registration.  If that happens to you and you have a voucher for more than one person, it's likely that you have multiple codes on the same voucher, separated by a hyphen. You'll need to enter only one code at a time, and complete registration one at a time instead of all at once.

CAN I SIGN UP AS A TEAM? HOW?


Absolutely! It's not a relay of any kind. You sign up as a team, pick a team name and run the race together. Many teams make their own t-shirts with their team name or come in costume. You can even use the Color in Motion 5K Run as your next sappy "team-building" activity with your work buddies or special family bonding time. To register as a team click "Register" at the top of the page and then select the "Register as a team" button.

WHERE, WHEN, AND HOW DO I GET MY PACKET?


Whoa, whoa, whoa, you're getting excited there, pal! We will post the location and time for you to pick up your packet on your city race page the week before the race.  We will email you the information the week prior to the race. Usually, we will have you pick up your packet the night before the 5K from about 4-9pm.  You just need to bring your ID or printed confirmation page to pick up your packet.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET?


You can send a friend with your signed waiver page to pick up your packet for you.  The waiver can be found at the end of the pre-race document.

HOW DO I SIGN THE WAIVER IF SOMEONE SIGNED UP FOR ME?


You can sign a waiver old school style, with a pen and paper, when you come and get your packet the night before the race.

WHAT DO I GET IN MY PACKET?


You will get a Color in Motion 5k t-shirt that you can wear the day of the race, a Color In Motion 5K bracelet, and a packet of COLOR! You can use your color to throw on your friends as you run or save it until the end to attack them with color in our post race dance party! We recommend saving your color 'til the end so you can partake in all the crazy color goodness that the post race party has to offer.  There will also be plenty of super colorful swag you can buy at the race:  tank-tops, shirts, socks, hats and last but not least... we are bringing back the fanny pack!

WHAT ABOUT COSTUMES?


Costumes are more than welcome at the Color in Motion 5k. Wear a tutu, a feather boa, or a fur coat (well maybe not the fur coat)!  If you or your team are going to come in costumes we do recommend making them as white as possible to ensure you get the most optimal color coverage possible.

ARE PHONES AND CAMERAS SAFE?


We will have photographers taking pictures during and after the 5k but if you want to get some sweet pics in the midst of all that color goodness, we recommend using a plastic baggy or plastic wrap to keep your devices color free.  

CAN MY KIDS PARTICIPATE?  CAN I RUN WITH MY STROLLER?

Nope, sorry. Our races are pet free. 
 

HOW DO I KEEP THE COOL COLOR IN MY T-SHIRT?


So you want to keep that t-shirt as a trophy to your awesomeness as a runner in Color in Motion 5k? Try this: Don't wash the t-shirt, let it soak in vinegar and then iron it.
 

CAN THE COLOR HURT ME?  HOW IS IT ADMINISTERED?


The color is super safe and is basically the consistency of powdered sugar. Just like you wouldn't stick powdered sugar in your eye, we recommend avoiding getting the color directly in your eyes. Our volunteers won't be aiming at your face but some runners still choose to wear sunglasses or goggles to avoid the color getting in their eyes. If you go blind, we're not liable. Also some choose to wear bandanas covering their mouths. The color powder is basically food grade cornstarch and is totally safe and natural.

WILL THE COLOR RUIN MY SHOES OR CLOTHES?


No. You may want to wear something that you don't mind getting a bit colored. All the color should wash out of clothing.

HOW DO I CLEAN UP AFTER THE RACE?


After the party if you want to dust yourself off before going home, hit up one of our "blow" stations where we will do our best to blow you clean. You may want to bring a towel or plastic garbage bag to put in your car for the ride home.

CAN FRIENDS AND FAMILY ATTEND THE COLOR IN MOTION AFTER PARTY ONLY?


Of course! Come party with us, and bring your friends and family to come cheer you on.

IS THE COLOR IN MOTION 5K TIMED?


Heck no!  The last time most of our team members ran a race, we collectively decided it was time to count by "Mississippi's" in our minds, and avoid the reality of time.   Don't bother brining a stop watch..this is the party of a lifetime with friends and family while we run, walk, crawl to the finish line!  (As a side note, when we started to count in our minds, our times improved dramatically!)

WHAT IF I REGISTER AND CAN'T MAKE IT?  


Can't make it? Are you crazy?!  We try not to even consider the idea of someone not making it...it's WAY TOO MUCH FUN to miss. Tell your grandma that you'll stop by to watch re-runs of I love Lucy with her after the race. You can't afford to miss this!0 for your little ones.  And strollers are more than welcome in our 5k.

WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

Although, we don't issue refunds- we make it very simple to transfer registrations to other people.  Just email customerservice@colorinmotion5k.com and we will take good care of you.
