DO I NEED TO BE AN AVID RUNNER?
Heavens, no! You can walk, jog, run, crawl, skip, or dance the 5k. The race isn't timed so just come ready to have fun and get covered in color. Just be warned you will be coated head to toe in color when you are finished. If you do want to know your 5k time, you best bring your own stopwatch.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
See that "Register" button at the top of the page? Find the city you wish to register for and click "Register Now."
HOW CAN I REDEEM MY DAILY DEAL VOUCHER?
Find your location on our LOCATIONS page. Click "Enter promo code," and enter your daily deal code (ie. Groupon, Living Social, Deal Chicken, Rush 49, etc). Once you've entered the code, click "Apply." You'll see a green "Daily Deal " option appear. Select a quantity of "1" and then click the green “Continue & Register” button and proceed with registration. Each code will need to be registered in a separate transaction. Processing fees may still apply.
WHERE, WHEN, AND HOW DO I GET MY PACKET?
We will post the location and time for you to pick up your packet on your city race page the week before the race. We’ll send out an email with the Movement Memo (pre-race instructions) the week prior to the race. Usually, we will have packet pick-up the day before the race from 9 AM to 7 PM (hours may vary based on location). You just need to bring your ticket, either in electronic or printed form. As a friendly reminder, if you opt to not come to Packet Pick Up, you may pick up your packet on Race Day for an additional $5.00 charge. Cash, credit, and debit are accepted methods of payment.
CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET?
You can send a friend with your signed waiver and ticket to pick up your packet for you. The waiver can be found at the end of the pre-race document. They MUST have your signed waiver in order to pick your packet up for you. As a friendly reminder, if you opt to not come to Packet Pick Up, you may pick up your packet on Race Day for an additional $5.00 charge. Cash, credit, and debit are accepted methods of payment.
WHAT DO I GET IN MY PACKET?
You will get a Color in Motion 5k t-shirt that you can wear the day of the race, a Color In Motion 5K bracelet, and a packet of COLOR! You can use your color to throw on your friends as you run or save it until the end to attack them with color in our post race dance party! We recommend saving your color until the end so you can partake in all the crazy color goodness that the post race party has to offer. There will also be plenty of super colorful swag you can buy at the race:
tank-tops, shirts, socks, mustache hats, fanny packs, extra color, etc.
WHAT ABOUT COSTUMES?
Costumes are more than welcome at the Color in Motion 5k. Wear a tutu, a feather boa, or a fur coat (well maybe not the fur coat)! If you or your team are going to come in costumes we do recommend making them as white as possible to ensure you get the most optimal color coverage possible.
ARE PHONES AND CAMERAS SAFE?
We will have photographers taking pictures during and after the 5k but if you want to get some sweet pics in the midst of all that color goodness, we recommend using a plastic baggy or plastic wrap to keep your devices color free.
PROBLEMS REGISTERING WITH A CODE/VOUCHER?
Check out “How Can I Redeem my Daily Deal Voucher?” above. If you continue to have problems and you have a voucher for more than one person, it's likely that you have multiple codes on the same voucher, separated by a hyphen. You'll need to enter only one code at a time, and complete registration one at a time instead of all at once. CAN MY KIDS PARTICIPATE? CAN I RUN WITH MY STROLLER?
Absolutely! Kids 10 and under can run for 1/2 off of the regular registration price. Just enter the code "UNDER10" to unlock that ticket! Kids 5 and under run for free! You can buy a participant shirt for $10 at packet pickup or at the race. Strollers are allowed, we just ask that you start at the back of the race for safety reasons.
WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT?
No age limit! Come young, come old!
ARE PETS ALLOWED?
Nope, sorry. Our races are pet free.
HOW DO I KEEP THE COOL COLOR IN MY T-SHIRT?
So you want to keep that t-shirt as a trophy to your awesomeness as a runner in Color in Motion 5k? Try this: Don't wash the t-shirt, let it soak in vinegar and then iron it.
CAN THE COLOR HURT ME? HOW IS IT ADMINISTERED?
The color is super safe and is made out of cornstarch with food grade dye. Just like you wouldn't stick cornstarch in your eye, we recommend avoiding getting the color directly in your eyes. Our volunteers won't be aiming at your face but some runners still choose to wear sunglasses or goggles to avoid the color getting in their eyes. If you go blind, we're not liable. Also, some choose to wear bandannas covering their mouths.
WILL THE COLOR RUIN MY SHOES OR CLOTHES?
The color usually washes right out of shoes and clothing, but we recommend wearing older clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, just in case.
HOW DO I CLEAN UP AFTER THE RACE?
After the party if you want to dust yourself off before going home, hit up one of our "blow" stations where we will do our best to blow the color off of you. You may want to bring a towel or plastic garbage bag to put in your car for the ride home.
CAN FRIENDS AND FAMILY ATTEND THE COLOR IN MOTION AFTER PARTY ONLY?
Of course! Come party with us, and bring your friends and family to come cheer you on.
IS THE COLOR IN MOTION 5K TIMED?
Heck no! The last time most of our team members ran a race, we collectively decided it was time to count by "Mississippi's" in our minds, and avoid the reality of time. Don't bother bringing a stopwatch..this is the party of a lifetime with friends and family while we run, walk, crawl to the finish line!
WHAT IF I REGISTER AND CAN'T MAKE IT? WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Can't make it? Are you crazy?! We try not to even consider the idea of someone not making it...it's WAY TOO MUCH FUN to miss. Unfortunately we are unable to process refunds, exchanges, or transfers.
